Hello,

I decided to rebuild my GBPVR on a more modern machine and all works fine so far, except I can't see any video for BBC ONE (all other channels are OK).

I noticed that the Channel Type field when scanning shows H.264 (all other channels are MPEG-2), so I assume the tuner has found the Freeview HD channel, but as I don't have an HD tuner I guess it wouldn't work. I get the audio though.

I've tried removing the tuners and retuning numerous times. I've loaded the patched version of config.exe, changed <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds> to 60 (this has removed all the unknown channels, so was worth doing). However, I can't seem to tune into the non-HD BBC ONE channel. I'm using a Nova-500-T dual tuner.

Any help much appreciated, as this is probably the channel I watch the most.

Try deleting the scan*.cache files from "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\BDA", then try scanning again. It should hopefully fix it.

If your are using freeview then I think you are out of luck, I believe freeview HD is broadcast as DVB-T2 ather than DVB-T. I have not seen anyone release a tuner for use in PC's that can tune T2 yet.....the UK is one of the only countries going down this route at the moment so don't expect any soon.
If however you mean Freesat then thats a different story.

Sub, thanks for the suggestion, I'll try it out as soon as our guests have left!

I did try to paste the BBC1 entry from an old copy of scan.cache, but it didn't make any difference.

Elmo, from what you say it sounds like it can't be the HD that I'm receiving, so maybe I've introduced a corruption in scan.cache or something. But, just to clarify I'm not attempting to receive HD, I'm only after the standard Freeview channel.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Thanks.

Well, I've tried removing the capture sources, deleting the scan.cache files and re-scanning, but I get the same result. I then tried removing the sources and copying some scan.cache files from my previous build. When I start GBPVR the channels all work correctly. However, as soon as I rescan (which I need to do to capture some more channels) my previously working BBC 1 is changed to H.264 and has no video when I try to watch it. Also, I noticed that several of the other (previously working) channels are changed to ...(Audio #2) - even if I just do a rescan without changing the mapping selections. I saw a reference to a patched version of config.exe which I have tried, but I get the same result.

What puzzles me, is that I'm using the same tuner card (Nova500T), drivers and GBPVR version (1.4.7) that I used on my old machine and I've not had this problem before. Other than PC & HDD, the only thing I can think of that may have changed is perhaps the new Freeview HD transmissions - but would it affect my non-HD Nova500T card?? Maybe that's a red herring.

I think this thread may be describing the same problem, but I've tried the suggestions there to no avail:
