I have an HVR-2250 card and a DirecTV D12-100 satelite receiver. When changing channels in WinTV 7 or GB-PVR some of the digits in the channel number are dropped. Sometimes it is the first digit and sometimes it is the first 2 digits. Has anyone got the IR blaster that plugs into the card working properly?

Also, I have noticed that haupblast.exe in GB-PVR does not seem to work with the new Hauppauge blaster software. If IR32.exe is not running I cannot use the non-MCE 45 button remote from my HVR-1600 in GB-PVR. I wasn't even going to try the MCE style remote that came with the HVR-2250. I am using GB-PVR 1.4.7.

Hauppauge's blaster software is terrible. I ended up shelving my 2250 and getting a used pvr250 to compliment my 150, and then an MCE remote and IR receiver/blaster. I use IR Server Suite to control the blaster side of things and the MCE Remote Registry mod(have to search for it) to run the remote, it's rock solid. When I have to rebuild my box I will try the 2250 again, but never the hauppauge dual blasters/software!

Well I figured it out! It took several hours of work but what I discovered is that the IR Receiver is very picky when learning the codes for a remote. If the remote is not positioned just so when learning, the blastcnfg software will tell you it learned the code when it really hasn't. What you have to do is learn the numbers 1 to 0, the enter and power buttons and then test them using the send function. It will take a lot of time to find the "sweet" spot where the IR receiver and remote are positioned correctly for the code to successfully be learned. You may have to do this several times to finally get all of the codes learned by Hauppauge's software. Be patient!

Another thing I learned when I trained my Hauppauge 2250 blaster was that although the blaster config program instructs you to press and hold the key until it tells you otherwise, it really wants you to just press it and release right away like you normally would do when using the remote.

Hauppauge's tech support was useless in solving the problem. After talking with him on the phone and trying some things he said he would research it and get back to me. He just emailed me a link to some general page that didn't address my specific issues.

I had to find the answer to how to train the blaster without their help. But now, it works fine and i haven't had any problems, after a couple weeks of use.
