Slick Skin or Something Like it?

Are any of you folks working on bringing back something like the Slick skin?

The default skin is pretty much like the slick skin, but without the fan art. Is it the fan art you're wanting?

The layout of the screens (Recordings, Libraries etc) has changed to get more space, by putting the buttons at the top rather than down the left. This wouldnt change with the different skin though.

Mostly, I'm really missing the channel logos in the default skin, thus it's a bit of a deal breaker for me and the wife. Our kids are also learning to tune to their shows and do it by logo (they are just learning to read.) I went through the trouble of getting all Hires images from Satlogo and they look great in the old skin.

I hadn't even thought about the art. I have a few custom backgrounds I use for the menus, but I haven't explored if that functionality is still in the beta.

For the most part the default skin is the new slick, but something are slightly different, and showing the channel icons in the tv guide is one of those things. You'd have edit the TV Guide skin file to make thing appear, using the @icon image.

If you open ..\your data directory\NPVR\Skin\Default\TV Guide\Guide.xml in notepad & add " <Image source="@icon" location="12,0" size="25,100"/>" like the example below it will get the channel logs displaying, then just add you channel images to \NPVR\Media\Channels & you should be good to go........you can tweak the position & size by altering the values for "location="12,0" size="25,100"

whew, had a hard time getting some of my icons to show..it's not filtering out extra spaces..
turns out the scan had added a space at the end of the call-sign..
so instead of "KRIVDT.png" i had to make it "KRIVDT .png"
as i can't edit the names of channels..[except for in db editor]
no wonder it looked a bit odd in the guide..

Why can't you edit the names of channels in the settings->channels screen?

I just did it by selecting a channel selecting details & changing the name up the top, then I tested by checking the guide & it no longer showed the logo, when I renamed the logo to the same name I had just changed it to in settings it started to show again.

btw, when i click on 'channels' from main right-click menu, nothing happens...is this normal?

You are right that channels also doesn't do anything when I select it.......must be still waiting for sub to do something with it

i figured it was supposed to just be a shortcut to channels screen from settings.

btw, i had to use <Image source="@icon" location="22,0" size="25,100"/>
to allow for 3 digit channel numbers on left..
