When there are multiple cards available, how does it decide which is card to use first?

I currently have a single PVR-250 with an IR Blaster and cable box (external tuner on fixed channel) at the moment. I am going to add a Nova-T card and there will then be some channels available from both sources. I want GBPVR to use the Nova card first if the channel is available and then the PVR-250 second. Is this possible and how would I set it up?

It uses the first one it finds, from the top of the list down, which has the required channel and is available at the requested time.

Setup the Nova capture source first, then the PVR250.

Thanks sub, very much appreciated. There are more questions than answers as the song goes  [Image: biggrin.gif]
1. Can they use the same XMLTV file?
2. This is a bit of a wishlist item but is it possible to put up/down buttons on the "Capture Sources" tab to change the order of the sources?
3. Is this ordering used when channel changing in live TV mode:
     a. does it keep re-assessing which source to use or
     b. does it pick one when entering live TV mode and then keeps to that one.

1) Yes, but you'll need to set them up indepententy.
2) Maybe in a future release.
3) LiveTV starts at the bottom of the list and works up.
3a) yes - any time you change channels.

Setup the Nova capture source first, then the PVR250.
One thing to bear in mind though - when (if) you look at the Recording Status by bringing up the systray application, they will appear in 'upside-down' order, i.e., under Recording Status, 'Capture Source #1' will be the 250.

It took me a while to get my head around this but after a few experiments it all became clear (oh, that AND sub explaining it to me about 5 times  [Image: biggrin.gif] )

Cheers,
Brian
