I'm looking at between 15 and 30 seconds for LiveTV to start.

Im running dvb-s with CI/Cam. Channel changing is farily quick.

Anything I should look at to speed up the process?

Was it quicker in GBPVR?

If you stop live tv and restart it on the same encrypted channel, is it quicker?

Deff quicker in GBRVR but didn't do too much testing. Iknow that using mdplugins with a card reader gave real fast channel changes!

As for going in and out of an encrypted channel, same time to start, aprox 15 secs

I cant think of any NPVR specific reason. Most likely reasons are either the device or it's drivers is slow to start, or it is taking that long for the CI device to start delivering unencrypted TV.

Are you asking what plugin og cardreader that works well for Conax?

There isnt really enough info to go on in that thread, but he does indicate the same problem happens in both GBPVR and NPVR, so doesnt sound like its NPVR specific. Poor satellite signals can sometimes take sometimes be slow to lock, and given he has a HVR-4400, then it could be the case there.

I have a phoenix card reader and played with newcs and yanksee. Worked ok, but tuning was a pain in GBPVR. Channel changing was really fast, but I had problems with either sound choppy or picture.

I.m running a TT-1500 with CI and the CAM you sent me. Works, but really slow start up. Channel change 1-3 secs.

I was wondering what is a current setup if I test the phoenix, Acamd?

And what goes where in NPVR? :-) I don't really have time to read up and log into various dvb sites.
