How is this done? The install created 5 executables, NextPVR, NPVRServiceControl, NRecord, NTray, and uninstall.

I see no means to configure NPVR. What am I missing?

If you right click on the NextPVR window, you can select 'Settings'.

Thanks, I found that on the forum as well. The post I found mentioned it being documented. Where?

I know I am not the first person to ask and hopefully won't be the last.

Its supposed popup a box automatically when you first run the application to tell you this, and auto shows the Settings screen this first time.

I didn't get a popup box. That explains a lot.

Thank you.

ya, I just installed the 1.5.28 and my setup didn't pop up either on install. I uninstalled GBPVR. and tried NPVR since a plugin in gbpvr was crashing me... I like the look of NPVR but I have two issues... Weather. I put in the setup my zipcode, I think... but nothing happens from the application. and when I tried to put in my Devices for the capture cards. it is greyed out. and no way to detect or whatever it does?? I have analog capture cards still. and use a MediaMVP. and the quick searches on the forums... is the MediaMVP setup properly in NPVR yet? kind of confusing... well, hope the little or big bugs gets worked out with NPVR. I had to reinstall gbpvr and got it working again... take care.

I'm not sure what you're talking about here. I'm fairly sure no Weather plugin has been released for NPVR. Are you talking about GBPVR?

It'll auto detect the devices available in your machine.

If you've got an analog device in your machine, you need the Hauppauge WinTV7 components installed (or at least the SoftPVR component). If the SoftPVR components are not installed, then it wont look for analog devices (since it couldnt use them without these components).

The MediaMVP is very old device now, and not really up to the requirements of NPVR (.ts playback etc). You can view the UI and scheduled recordings etc, but it cant watch live tv or recordings (due to the .ts file format the MVP doesnt understand). Its unlikely the MediaMVP will ever be fully supported in NPVR.

sub, a quick question about MVP's: if one is using analog or SD digital, and one re-muxes the .ts recordings to .mpg in postprocessing.bat, would that be sufficient to make an MVP work with NPVR?

In theory that should be fine for watching recordings.

thanks; I'd given that advice once or twice before, just wanted to be sure it's at least theoretically correct. I may put a quick note about MVP's in my support sticky since the question seems to come up alot.
