NPVR Command Line Scheduler?

NPVR Command Line Scheduler?

Hi All,

First off, many thanks for GB-PVR and now NPVR. So far I've had reasonable success with NPVR and can Watch live TV and record without any problems.

My question is about command line scheduling. In GB-PVR there was Schedule.exe which allowed external programs to schedule a recording. I'm an avid user of Digiguide (the best digital TV guide for UK TV IMHO) and I made a small plugin that could schedule recordings in GB-PVR by right-clicking a program and clicking Video etc...

Is there a similar facility in NPVR? If not is there any plan to implement one?

TIA, Marco

NEWA provides web services which you could call from a command line program.

There is no command line scheduler today, but it'd be pretty easy for someone to create one using the ScheduleHelper API.

Thanks for the reply, a command line scheduler would be awsome.

Is there any documentation about the NEWA web services and the syntax?

Any update on this?

I'd too would like to schedule recordings directly from DigiGuide like Mad-Marco - again, I used to do it with GBPVR using schedule.exe and it worked quite well with the exception that it always bunged everything into a 'manual recordings' folder instead of generating a folder name based on the program title as in GBPVR itself.

The old GBPVR version was:
Run Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\Devnz\GBPVR\Schedule.exe
with parameters: -channel $ChannelAssignment -start "$TimeStart(%Y-%m-%d %H:%M)" -stop "$TimeEnd(%Y-%m-%d %H:%M)" -name "$ProgrammeName" -pre 1 -post 2

It would be nice if we could have a new schedule.exe which took $ProgrammeName as the folder name and $ProgrammeName_$TimeStart as the filename.

Any chance of this happening Sub?

Cheers

I out of the country for the next few weeks, but if you remind me after that then I could probably knock something up fairly quickly.

Many thanks for the ultra-quick respose Sub, but infortunately it throws exceptions here Sad

Running from a command prompt produces:

C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR>[COLOR="red"]schedule -channel 1 -start "2011-05-09 21:25" -minut
es 2 -name "test"

Have applied latest patches just in case but generates the same error. Windows 'This program has stopped working' dialog is shown before the debug output.

Running W7x64, tried as admin, 'Everyone' full control in NPVR folder. Trying to run schedule from Users\Public\NPVR gives NUtility.dll not found.

Hope this helps in debugging.
