Manual Recording Unhandled Exception

I'm new to nPvr and never used gbPvr. I can use Manual Record to record a program once with no problem but if I set it to record weekly, daily or Mon - Fri nPvr pops up an unhandled exception dialog box when I click OK.
I'm leaving the Advanced Rule edit at the default None. Should I be doing something here?

I do not have a program schedule xml file, and the broadcast epg data is erratic, a couple channels seem to have the correct data but most are listed as no info available or listed with the wrong channel. Could that be a problem with Manual Record?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

I have a feeling there was a patch put out to fix a crash with manual record that may help stop this one as well, have you added the patches from the sticky (first thread in this forum) thread?

I honestly thought I had applied the patches but it must have been after installing the previous version. I installed 1.5.28 and installed all patches in the sticky. I guess I did not install patches after installing 1.5.31.
I have now installed the patches but the problem remains.

I should have mentioned earlier the error is "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

Thanks for the try Jaggy!

Sorry I can't help further as it looks like the patch I was thinking of is in the sticky.
It will need someone with more knowledge than me to look at your logs/comment.

Hi Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, was gone for the weekend. Thanks for taking a look.

The caption sections says "Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error an attempt to continue. Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

There is a Details button and an OK button, I have to drag the box off the nPver edit window before I can use the mouse on it, the mouse pointer disappears when over the message window. If I click Continue I'm returned to the edit window. Clicking details drops down a window with the following

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I tried using Manual Record this weekend and got the same exception, could not save the logs unfortunately in case they would have showed something.

Reddwarf, I pulled the info out of the Details window/pane by clicking the Details button then right clicking in the Details pane and selecting copy in the popup menu. It's a bit difficult and may take a few stabs at it, the mouse pointer is turned off when the Unhandled Exception dialog pops up.

I have successfully set a recurring Manual Recording in nPvr. The computer I'm working with has two monitors attached, the second being a TV which I seldom even turn on while working at the computer. When I maximize nPvr it jumps from my normal computer monitor to the TV so I seldom maximize it. I maximized. nPvr this morning, chased down the remote for the TV, turned it on and tried setting a Manual Record there hoping the mouse pointer would stay active when the Error Msg. popped up. There was no error this time and the weekly recording event I setup was listed in Pending Recordings. I tried setting up a Mon-Fri recording from my primary monitor and had no problems there either. I then turned off the TV and tried another recurring Manual Recording and the Unhandled Exception error is back! Going back to the TV I have found that I get the Unhandled Exception error if I try to setup a recurring recording that starts today but not if it's set to start tomorrow or later.

A little more info on this error. I successfully setup a manual recording for weekends only (Sat. Sun) from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, had to do it on the TV monitor. I then tried a manual recording from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm weekly on Saturday but get the Unhandled Exception error from either monitor. Shutting down nPvr and restarting made no difference, several attempts on both monitors made no difference. I tried changing from Weekly on Sat. to Weekends (Sat. Sun) and all is well using either monitor. I just wanted to pass this on in case it would help to chase down the problem.
