Newbie help on EPG

Hi all,

Have been trying GBPVR, now found NPVR.

Appreciate any help with my problems. I am in the UK:-

1. Even after updating the EPG I find that most channels "no show details". I'm using Freesat OTA epg. I have tried to get XML sourced EPG data form the likes of the XMLTV GUI, but none of the configs are able to pick up any data. This is the same for GBPVR & NPVR.

2. How do you change the remote control type in NPVR. I can't find anything in the NPVR config liek what is in GBPVR config.

3. Any plans to simplify how DVD rips are handled? My old Dvico Tvix6500A will play a DVD just by opening the DVD folder and has the ability to play the DVD menu's......can't seem to get anythung like this with NPVR.

(1) I doubt you are using the Freesat EPG unless you are using DvbGuide to extract the data. If you just use the broadcast EPG then you just get the default "now and next" that is transmitted. I have been using XMLTVGUI for a long time now, grabbing the Radio Times data and it works very well most of the time EXCEPT that the Radio Times has recently been having occasional bad days with zero data. However, with current versions of xmltvgui, it doesn't write out a null xml file when this happens, so the worst that occurs is that you get a days less EPG data.
If you want a hand setting up xmltvgui just let us know.

I have XMLTVGUI working a treat now cheers.

Still struggling with the remote control, have got one of those programmable ones (tip to tip) and have managed to emulate the buttons I need to scroll aroundthe EPG etc......only thing I can't get emulated is the ESC key so that I can get back to the menu.....aaarrgghh.

UPDATE: Got it!...........I'm using a combination of the Hauppauge IR and a cheap MCE IR, my learning remote has keys from both remotes!
