Hi all,

Have been trying GBPVR, now found NPVR.

Appreciate any help with my problems. I am in the UK:-

1. How do you change the remote control type in NPVR. I can't find anything in the NPVR config as it was in GBPVR config. I had changed my remote type to Hauppauge, but am now stuck with the mouse or cursor keys on my full size keyboard.

2. Is there any way to stop the users scrolling back the channel guide, i.e. to the left.

3. Any plans to simplify how DVD rips are handled? My old Dvico Tvix6500A will play a DVD just by opening the DVD folder and has the ability to play the DVD menu's......can't seem to get anythung like this with NPVR.

There no specific remote control support built into the application (other the MCE remote support). There was a thread somewhere here for what to put in your irremote.ini file to get the Hauppauge remote.

No, not currently. I purposefully lets people go back one day, because often I find I want to look at the listings from the night before.

I'm not really sure what I can simplify. I just browse to the ripped dvd directory in the Video Library and shows a fake ".dvd" file. Click it and it starts the dvd (giving its menus etc).

Maybe you're using .iso files instead of video_ts directory?

Hi,

I don't have any ".dvd" files, and no I'm not using ISO's, I have video_ts folders. Just a plain old straight dvd rip (VOBs, IFOs & BUP files).
My old Tvix6500A used to recognize it was a video_ts folder and play the DVD rather than open it up to view the contents.

I've never come across .dvd files.....?

The app expects you to retain the 'video_ts' directory structure, so you'd need to have something like "c:\dvds\somemovie\video_ts". The app would show your the .dvd when you navigate to c:\dvd\somemovie. I'm guessing you dont have this, so it doesnt know its a dvd.

See the NPVR Getting Started sticky thread (link in my sig); there's a section on the Hauppauge remote.

I have E:\Videos mapped in the settings.

A sample DVD folder setup is as follows:-

E:\Videos\OurDog\video_ts
E:\Videos\OurDog\video_ts\VTS_01_0.VOB

There is no detection, I can open up the root folder and go all the way through to see all the VOB/IFOs etc.

I assume it's just a case of dropping the folders in there....I mean I don't have to go anywhere to ask NPVR to scan the folder or anything?

I double checked what the logic is. When you browse to a directory in the video library, and finds it has one subdirectory called VIDEO_TS or two directories called VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS, then it'll list the .dvd (and not show the VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS). So, do you have any other subdirectories other than VIDEO_TS? Also, could be related to the case - try renaming it to VIDEO_TS instead of video_ts shown in your example above.

Fixed........it's case sensitive.

VIDEO_TS

Cheers,
