I have just tried to get my pch going again. I am on Npvr with the latest release. I used the NMTInstall2. Install went fine (I think). Everything is in the default locations. (Vista). From the NMT it gives me the Press to launch GBPVR screen. When I press it I get a white screen with "mount mounting \\192.168.1.1" and it dies there. It totally locks up and I have to pull the power to get it going. I searched the survival guides and forum, but could not find the answer. I am sure it is something dumb I did, but HELP! (Please)

Post your output from the NMT Syntax check program in the sticky, and I will have a look.

Oops I'm the dumb one, I had commented out the NPVR check for testing so I just updated the binary if you want to try again but the NMT side looks good. There have been reports that 64bit requires a restart of the server.

Could you also confirm that mvpmcx2 is in the mvpmc share, the message you are getting is different and not necessarily a share issue.

That looks better as long GBPVR has zero MVP Servers set I do't see any errors.

The files should be in C:\mvpmc

I reread your comments. Reboot did not help, and mvpmcx2 file is in the mvpmc folder (that is shared)

What about trying via GB-PVR.html? It should launch NPVR

That was a good clue! Turns out I had an old Index.html file that was launching. It was from my original gbpvr use. I dumped it and it now launches fine from the npvr launch screen.

Thanks for the help!

Hi Martin
I thought this was fixed but it is not. I am still struggling with it. I just reloaded Vista and it is still there.

If I reboot the PCH and try to start NPVR from the N-PVR.html start button, I get the Mount mounting \\192.168.1.1 message (my gateway address)
If I try it again, I get a mkdir:cannot create director message, each retry I get this message
If I try NPVR via Network Browser I get a Request Cannot be Processed message
If I go to the network browser and drill in and pick NPVR start button from the NPVR.html, I get the Request Cannot be Processed message
But then if I try the NPVR via network browser button a couple of time, it suddenly goes into NPVR
From then on, as long as I dont reboot, it goes right in by pressing the NPVR button.

I guess the PCH stores some setting and then looses it on power down.

Any ideas??? What does start via USB do? Would that help??? It takes me about 5 minutes of messing around to get it going. IMPOSSIBLE for the wife.
