I''m using the following command to mount a map in windows 7 that has some DVD's in it:

Code:
mount -t cifs //192.168.1.83/Videos /mnt/D:\\Videos/ -o username=guest,ro;

This works fine, just one little problem: after my windows machine goes to sleep and I wake it up with the nmt, the mount isn't working anymore. And I can't seem to unmount it or remount it. A reboot is the only solution that works at this moment. Any ideas how to script this issue?

When you enter umount /mnt/D:\\Videos/ via telnet do you get an error message?

I tested that last night and I believe the error was: invalid argument. When I entered mount with no arguments, the videos mount wasn't in the list.

If it isn't available that would make sense. What error do you get on the mount?

I think it was "mount failed", there weren't many details. I used the same mount command as I have in my scripts.

Odd, because if mounts in general didn't reconnect then the mvpmc mount /etc/mvpmc wouldn't be available either and a lot of Win7 user would be complaining.

Maybe try adding the umount right after the line that runs mvpmcx2 and mount each time? You can probably use the -f option with umount.

OK, thanks. I need to investigate this some more, I just found out the mount is still active tonight, while the system has been a sleep the last hour. I'll be back.
