Today I came home to find 4 shows in "recording" status even though it was way past the time of the recordings. I left that screen and came back, and then all 4 showed as failed - recording service was not running at the time, or whatever it says.

I noticed also that quite a few recordings before these, are a couple minutes long. Can someone look at my logs and tell me what the problem is?

This problem starts at 2010-11-21 19:59:02.220 in the logs.

i had this on countless occasions. it got so bad I could even start the recording service even after uninstalling and reinstalling npvr. i even manually remove the npvr service from the computer. I had to go back to gbpvr which is working beautifully as always.

At that time it tried to start

Z:\recordings\Rated A For Adult\Rated A For Adult_20101121_20002030.ts
Z:\recordings\The Simpsons\The Simpsons_20101121_20002030.ts

Did either of these recordings happen? Are they both on analog capture sources - if so, what channel are they on?

@Sub

They both have files 0 MB in size. Rated A For Adult_20101121_20002030.ts was analog and just being captured from s-vid out of my cable box.
The Simpsons_20101121_20002030.ts was digital and recorded from channel 11, our Fox station here.

Do you know if this problem is usually happening in this scenario? ie, analog and digital at the same time? I'm wondering if both have tried to use the same tuner at the same time.

Not sure. I never looked closely at the logs the first time. I do know I have a lot of shows recording at once and have always been very amazed that I have no conflicts showing. Not sure if the scenario that would cause a conflict is the same as what you are suspecting, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Is "Invalid file passed to StartParallelProcessing():" being caused by the 0MB files?

Ok, today I have 3 duplicate recordings in my "What's New" screen from early this morning. The first of each was successfull, and the second says "failed" with the reason "Recording service not running at recording time". I posted my NRecord.log file. The 3 recordings are, in order: "Red Eye" at 12:00 AM, "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 12:06 AM, and "Family Guy" at 1:00 AM.

Today I found another recording marked with "Recording service not running at recording time". I checked the logs, and a lot of it doesnt make sense to me. In the recordings screen, I had a recording of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (12436) that said it went from 12:06 to 1:06 , and the failed recording of "Manswers" (12597?) that supposedly went from 12:06 to 12:39. In the logs they both don't show up until 12:57. There was no mention of "Manswers, but it did mention a recording (12597) being marked as failed. I posted my NRecord log, and this activity starts at 2010-11-26 00:02:00.219.
