Musiclibrary3 and Npvr

I had intended moving to Npvr and getting an egreat m34a as a Christmas present to myself, but as I mainly use gbpvr for music streaming, I cant quite work out whether this is a good idea or not.

Will Musiclibray3 (or a successor) be ported to Npvr ? Martin seemed to be unsure whether he was going to bother or not.

Without musiclibrary3 I cannot move to npvr so is there any real point in upgrading from my Mpv

I have an HD 1080p TV and a digital amp, would I see any significant improvement in visibility when most of the time its the screen saver showing photographs which is on the tv screen, upgrading from a scart connected MVP to an hdmi egreat box.

from my research an apple TV box looks like the best bet, just load the music into itunes, but I'm not clear how well it copes with photographs if I'm not using a mac system.

all the other boxes AC Ryan, Sumvision, Xstreamer, wdtv etc etc seem to geared to playing video rather than playing music, and the specialised music players such as squeezebox, teac, sonas etc are ludicrous prices.

So the big question is what is the state of music playing on npvr can I hit a couple of buttons and have continuous random music as I can with musiclibrary3 ?


Or should I just stick with XP gbpvr 1.4.7 and my Mvp and fade into the background

In general the included music library in NPVR is better than GBPVR's but I expect over time there will be some music plugins created because of the many tastes involved.

Regarding the MVP it is still a good music player and bargain on GBPVR or NPVR the big advantage of the egreat would be playing video, HD wide screen menus and art, and HDMI. It doesn't sound like a "must" upgrade for you.

For MB4 currently it reads an ML3 database, and plays it randomly by button click or automatically after the configured seconds. I forgot I told fuzzweed I'd clean it up so I guess I should do that sooner than later. I'm still deciding on a UI upgrade,there will be one, but it will surely be focused on 16:9 so MVP 4:3 skins may look be poor. The bigger change will be integration of the control function with Android so the TV screen can be turned off.

A new version of MLPanel (with a new name) is currently under development with some very very early alpha's being tested so displaying pictures while playing music with NextPVR shouldn't a huge time off either.
