I've been using a dual core ION Atom with Win 7 and NVPVR and its starting to get sluggish. It has 2 gig of memory and from time to time runs utorrent in the background but apart from that it is dedicated to NPVR.

It plays TV (including BBC HD) fine it the laggyness with the remote when moving through the menus that is the problem.

I suppose a move back to XP would fix it but I absolutely love the EVR renderer.

Does anyone have any idea if say an install of Win 7 home basic would be quicker Or how about the 32 bit version would that be faster than the 64 bit that I have installed currently.

just out of interest are you using the hauppague remote? I just switched to an MCE and it is way way faster than the hauppague ever was.

Problem solved. I switched to Win7 32 bit and it all runs fine now.
