Hi guys,

Having some issues getting smooth deinterlace with h.264 files. My machines not exactly high powered (3600x2, 1gb ram, 7600gt).

CoreAVC is working well, but has interlacing issues; if i create a custom graph using ffdshow to deinterlace post avc it works well, but how can i get npvr to use this custom graph?

any advice appreciated!

Can't you just the defaults in ffdshow either while video is playing via toolbar icon or by selecting the options from the NPVR config menu?

nope - if i select ffdshow obviously it just uses ffdshow for h264 with poor results.
if i select coreavc it will use coreavc but no ffdshow for deinterlace. I have tried putting on deinterlace flags on ffdshow, i have tried disabling h264 in ffdshow, i have tried allowing ffdshow to connect to all raw video, no luck.

However a manually created graph in graphedit shows it is possible, and it works well - its just getting npvr to use this graph!

Ok, I didn't understand you needed CoreAvc, ffdshow-tryout works well for me with H264, better than ArcSoft.

i bet you just don't have ffdshow output correctly...must uncheck all colorspaces on output tab and check only nv12..
then check the interlace buttons below that..then ffdshow[tryouts] should work well on your system...
it does a fine job on almost any video card/cpu

tried that, nope - laggy audio, tearing etc. Using the FFDshow tryouts packaged with Stand alone filters in the wishlist section of the forums.

remember im in NZ where we use DVB-T h.264 with he-aac for audio, apparently its pretty harsh on older systems

Hi.
You should get new GPU, like ATI 5450 + SAF5 and you will be fine Smile

Have you tried Cyberlink H.264 decoder for video and Monogram audio decoder for audio?

yup, tried cyberlink.

I will point out that the coreAVC codec gives PERFECT playback, but just wont deinterlace correctly. If i set deinterlacing up the picture zooms in and you only see a quarter of the image zoomed in. with deinterlacing in coreAVC set to none, the picture is perfect, just lacks deinterlacing.

As i said, if i make a custom graph with coreAVC pinned into ffdshow, it runs absolutely perfectly - i just cant get npvr to use coreavc and ffdshow at the same time.
