I installed the NextPVR. I enter setting to select my capture card (Hauppauge PVR-150MCE).
I see no devices on the list. It is empty.
I ran the FilterCheck. It lists my card as "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture".
I checked the AnalogDevices.XML and it is on the list (the second one).

I do not know if it is related, but I saw in another area that I need to install something from the WinTV application. My capture card came without the application CD (was OEM) so I cannot download the software from the Hauppague site.

Can it be because my Windows 7 is installed on D: and the default data directory is c:?
Why is the list empty?

Please help.
Thanks
Ron

The list is empty because you do not have the WinTV SoftPVR components installed. See the thread in my signature - post 3 includes some instructions on getting SoftPVR installed.

The instructions did not help me. I have an OEM card so I am unable to download the WinTV to extract the SoftPVR.
Any advice on how to do it? Is there another way to get the card to work?

As I've said, I was unable to follow the instructions. I have the original WinTV CD but the new Hauppauge WinTV7 does not want to install on my PC when it checks the CD version that I have.

Any idea to overcome it?
Microsoft Media Center works fine without it. I just do not like how it works and records.

Option 2 does not require installation - use 7zip to extract the required files straight from the downloaded installer!

I have downloaded the WinTV7 and used 7zip to extract everything from it. It produced only 4 files that are not usable.
It looks like Hauppauge has their installation CD protected now.

Did you use the WinTV7 installer linked from option 2? This is known to work.

Which 4 files did you get? It should be some .ax, a .dll and one more file...

ah good, I see you have that stuff in the wiki now. Nice work... much of that info will no longer be part of the sticky upon the next release.

@ron7 - as you seem to expect us to carefully read what you write (and we have), perhaps you could do the same instead of just glancing at what we tell you to do and then continue to repeat the same information
