I seem to have two problems with GBPVR. The first is the program freezing when scheduling to record a program. I can task manager & see it is running at 0%, yet it will not respond to any controls. Closing it & restart seems to work. however afterwards pausing will not work. Hitting pause will open another instance of GBPVR. Even if I reboot. I have to go into the config & play with the settings to get it working again.

I seem to get the same kind of problem, when I try to cancel a show that is being recorded/scheduled, I often get the application to freeze...
It looks like restarting the recording service solves the problem temporarily...

I have two additional questions:

1. Is it possible through a bat file to detect if the recording service is recording?

2. Is it possible for GBPVR to check if another instance of itself is running and if so, close down?

Hi Tipstir,

I installed the latest version ( 09010 ).
It happened again to me when trying to cancel a scheduled show, the application freezes, nothing happens, the display is not refreshed anymore, until the moment I restart the gbpvrrecordingservice.exe using the tray icon.
Note that during the failure, the recording status of the service was "sleeping".

I don't have a GBPVRRecording.exe.log but I have a gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log.

The 6 latest files updated are (starting from the latest) :
gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log (see log bellow)
gbpvr.ldb
gbpvr.mdb
GBPVR.exe.log (see log bellow)
GBPVR.exe-native.log
gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-native.log

I have hauppauge WinTv 150 on a windows 2000 Server SP 4, MDAC 2.6 with a Geforce Ti 4400 for the video out. Processor is intel pentium 4 at 2 Ghz with 1024 Mo DDR ram and Mobo is Abit IS7.

I hope this will help identify the problem...

When I first started using GBPVR, it would hang/delay alot with no CPU usage. I ended up tracing it down to my antivirus. I excluded the services and folders for GBPVR and it got MUCH better.

Here is my log. I am hitting the pause button on Live TV. What I get is a second instance of GBPVR - with the LIVETV running in the background.

If you mean a new window is opened that the video, then this is usually cuased by the video decoder being incompatible with the selected renderer (ie CyberLink with VMR). Try selecting a different decoder, or set the renderer to Overlay.

OK just found something interesting. If I use the mouse, the pause works fiine. When I use the remote, pause doesn't work. Skip & other things work. I can pause with the mouse, then hit play with the remote.

I have a Hauppauge PVR150.

Yes, as I said - this is usually cuased by the video decoder being incompatible with the selected renderer (ie CyberLink with VMR). Try selecting a different decoder, or set the renderer to Overlay.

OK I've changed the Video Decoder to: InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder & selected Overlay manager in the radio button below. The second window does not open when I hit pause, but pausing doesn't work. Also I've noticed that pausing doesn't work by remote when watching recordings either. Both do work when I pause with the mouse.

Any idea?
