Hi all,

I've been trying for a couple of days to get LiveTV working on NPVR and I constantly get the message "Unable to locate Capture filter's Analog Video In.

The card works as I saw with WinTV 7 and BeyondTV 4 Demo. I can display and record all channels without any problem. I have read several post with similar problems but cannot find a solution.
I have applied most of the Getting Started post including Patches, VC++ Runtime, DirectX 9c, AC3Filter, RegSVR32 *.ax.

I suspect some kind of xml malformed or missing codec.

I can see the card in Settings:
Analog Hauppauge WinTV 885 Video Capture Yes Yes 55
ATSC Hauppauge WinTV 885 BDA Tuner/Demod Yes Yes 0
QAM Hauppauge WinTV 885 BDA Tuner/Demod Yes Yes 0

I have included the Logs, Filtercheck, Win-TVProdInfo and images in the hope that someone will have a hint of what is wrong.

Thank you for your help and support.

It wont be liking this localised pin name on your capture filter.

Quote:09:14:12.281 INFO found: Hauppauge WinTV 885 Video Capture
09:14:12.296 INFO - (input) Entrée vidéo analogique

I've added a fix for this in the next release.

Thanks Sub,

Does this mean that I am out of luck until the next release or can I edit anything manually for now??

By the way this is French Canadian locale ;-)

You might be able to find the name somewhere in the registry, to rename it to 'Analog Video In', otherwise you'll have to stick to digital channels or wait until the next release.

Thanks Sub,

Don't think that I would want to change the registry! Not that I cannot do it but I might break some other program that already works.
Don't want to rush you in any way but do you have a timeframe for the next release?

Also, it might be a good idea to warn potential users that "Only supported on English version of Windows for now" so that they don't spend days like me triing to figure out what is wrong.

I know that a lot of love, dedication and effort goes into NPVR and the program looks really good. Can't wait to try it out again.

It'll probably be in the next week or two.

It actually does work for the majority of people using non-english versions of Windows. Usually the drivers install with english names, even on non-english versions of Windows. When it does use non-english names though, the app supports serveral of the international names used for this pin, but I hadnt come across that exact variant. I've added support for it for the next release.

Oh great! A couple of weeks is no problem. It'll give me time to think about how I wish to set-up everything.

Thanks a lot Sub.

First, I'd like to thank you Sub for this new 2.0.3 release. It seems to have corrected the problem of not recognizing my device on Windows XP Canadian French locale.

Now I can go further but I am still stuck. Looking at the logs, I seem to be missing decoders and I am not sure if this is why I am not seeing any image in LiveTV.

Again, if anyone can point me in the right direction

Thanks
Claude

There are other decoder packages you could try, like SDPack and HDPack or CCCP (google and download/install).

In that log, it looks like you've got it configured to use ffdshow, but this filter is failing to connect. This would usually be for one of two reasons - either MPEG2 isnt enabled in the ffdshow settings, or you need to add NextPVR.exe to the whitelist in the ffdshow settings.
