Crashes in psisdecd.dll are not uncommon, in lots of apps, particularly on XP. Try googling "psisdecd.dll crashing" and I'm sure you'll find other discussion about it, and links to different versions of this DLL you can try on your machine.

Can you tell me what version of the psisdecd.dll you have on your machine?

This is definitely an XP issue which I don't think sub uses anymore. MediaPortal users are well aware of this problem and this is the version they recommend

Martin is correct, I dont use XP any more. The Win7 version of this file on my machine is 6.6.7600.16485.

Also, lots of people with the exact same version as you wouldnt have the same problem, because it relates to parsing data from your broadcaster's streams. Other broadcasters are likely not broadcasting this same data that the microsoft psisdecd.dll is having problems parsing.

Ah... slipped my mind.... I recall sub saying before that he was running Win7. The only reason I haven't upgraded to Win7 is because I don't have any spare Win7 licenses to load up in my virtual machine that's running NPVR.

Thanks for the info Sub and Martin, I'll take a look at the thread from the mediaportal forums.

Loaded up the patches from that thread, didn't make any difference. Guess it's time to upgrade to Win7. I ordered a Win7 Home Premium upgrade 3 pack so I'd have a license to use on my NPVR machine.

macgyver made the suggestion to use one psidecd for scanning and one for recording. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post399847 For those that don't want to go to Win 7 (or delay it) it might be worth a try.
