So I don't keep starting 50 new threads, I will post the little things I find in this thread.
Tonight I have been watching live TV just to see stability. All was good for about 45 min. Then I tested pause/resume and it worked great. I left the room and came back and the sound was on, but the screen was black and the Encrypted Content note was on the screen. I escaped out and restarted and all was fine. It is a clear QAM channel so I am not sure why the encrypted note. Logs attached It was somewhere around the 20:45 mark

From all my testing, the thing that seems to mess things up the worst is if NextPVR tries to watch or record something and the stream is not there for it. This always crashes the recording service and the GUI. I can see this being a real problem if there is a blip in the stream or worse yet, if a tuner is not available for some reason.
A) is there any way to sense if the stream is not available and keep the service alive?
B) can you tell the state of a tuner and make sure the program only selects a non-active one?

For those of us that will have to deal with copy flags, I see having to use WMC for some recording, either directly or using the network recorder. This hopefully will work for recordings, but I am not sure about live TV (or semi-live). Without some awareness of the tuner states, I can see more crashes.

I realize this cablecard system will likely be more of a pain to you than a plus. Anything I can do to help test senarios or help in any way will gladly be done.

I have started making improvements to resolve the lockups that can occur if the device doesnt supply data.

There is probably nothing I can do on this one.

Could you (at least for right now while this is still new and developing) add a hdhomerun_config.exe 000000 get /tuner0/status (with the appropriate device ID and tuner #) command before you try to use the tuner? Then at least the logfile could show us if a tuner was already being used by something else.

I was also wondering if you could use the set /tuner0/lockkey and get /tuner0/lockkey...

I have added some status logging in the next release.

I'll jump in here too - Where the message "encrypted content" is shown on channels I can't view, I see the message "reduced channel list" briefly on channels I can view. What does this message indicate?
What, me worry?

That message would indicate that not all of your channels are currently available. For example, if you got some channels that are only available on one capture source, and that capture source is recording, leaving only a subset of the channels as being possible.

This shouldnt be directly related to the DCR-2650. It can occur in any setup with any capture devices.

That's a 2.2.x thing. I get both those regularly on OTA ATSC now.

The logic has been there for a long time. Do you think it is happening now when it shouldnt?

I haven't intentionally changed anything in that area, but I'm sure I can find the cause if you give me a scenario it happens in. If needed I can add more logging.

I have sent you a couple of samples of files that show as "Encrypted Content" in LiveTV for OTA ATSC, and I have to exit to stop it. Unfortunately when I play the recording I don't get this error so I understand it is difficult to reproduce. Same thing with the reduced channel list. I am not recording anything on ATSC and it just comes up when I change channels with the arrows.

I just tried to duplicate it but I couldn't (I think you were sending this signal) but if/when it happens again I will. I haven't kept with the patches though.
