Hi,

I used GB-PVR 1.3.7. until last week. I heard that NPVR was also possible on the MVP so I tried to install.
Got it working, noticed there are some issues in 2.2.6, but Sub is working on those.

Now my question:
I noticed fast forward and rewind are not working in 2.2.6. It skips instead. Found a threat in where Sub said, GB-PVR never did skip and I know it didn't on my pc.
Since it works on my MVP when using GB-PVR, I must assume it's because Martin implemented it in his dongle?
If so, is it now possible too? Did I miss something? I have the lastest dongle of 20th february 2011 (and see that when turning on the MVP).
If not, will it be implemented? Does it work, but maybe only on a different extender than an MVP?

From posts I have seen, I think 'skip' is all that we have or likely to have nowadays.

In PVRx2 sub allowed for the MVP's to optionally use FF/RW but that was removed in NPVR. I think *FF still does 2x playback on the MVP. I am not planning on touching mvpmc again unless sub specifically tells me that he is making changes and how mvpmc should react. One day, I might add putting true FF/RW back for the NMT, I like it better than short skip.

I wasn't sure the "*" in front of "FF" was a typo, so I tried. But neither FF nor *FF does 2x playback on my MVP. If anyone else has an MVP on which it works, please let me know. I really miss that too.

Thanks for the response Martin. And thanks for still being able to use the MVP, even with NPVR.

That would be nice.

+1 for "that would be nice".

I still get unreliable forward skips at times (probably noisy signal in poor weather) and with FF at least you know you are going in the right direction Wink

That would be nice indeed, but isn't that a problem with HD content? I believe in the past (GBPVR) FF HD files didn't go that fast.

Chris, on the MVP it was limited, on the NMT, I limited it in mvpmcx2 because otherwise it was too fast of SD. If I focus on HD I might be okay.

I guess that would mean no fast forward on the MVP? That would be a pitty.

On the MVP with mvpmc you should have "faster" forward now, hitting * followed by FF.
