ff/skip/rewind issues with MVP

I have the Hauppauge PVR 150 card in my PC.

My problem is that I can't fast forward/rewind/skip on shows that I have recoreded. When I pause live tv, I can rewind and fast forward. I've unistalled and reinstalled the Hauppauge IR software on my computer, thinking that may have been the issue, but nothing.

Is anyone else having this issue when they use GBPVR with MediaMVP?

Had the same problem last night. But FF/rewind/skip worked for half of the show then stopped working. Only pause would work. Went back to using only mediaMVP server for now.

@Savage: I'm not sure I understand... If you're using the IR software, it means you're watching it on your PC. If you're using the MVP, the remote controls the MVP, not your PC... Do you mean you have problems on both???

I've noticed on mine (watching shows via the MVP) that if you start mashing buttons too quickly, the MVP will just stop responding to most of them. Stop then restart the show usually fixes it, sometimes you need to power off the MVP (via the remote). I've learned to just slow down & be patient, so I rarely run into this problem anymore. Switching the SkipInsteadOfFFRW setting to "true" also helped a bunch, as well as enabling "Force minimal OSD for MVP".

Other than that, there are numerous posts here that can help you improve MVP performance. Always keep in mind that the MVPs are very sensitive to system & network performance. If you are experiencing moments of high CPU utilization and/or high network utilization, then focus on fixing those issues as well.

LilY0da- I just assume that the hauppauge IR softward needs to be installed, but now that I think about it, I guess it wouldn't matter...Oops

AOSandman- Where are those settings? in the configuration of GB-PVR? The PC that is being used is hardly ever used and I've made sure to remove any no essential programs from startup, to keep CPU utilization to a minimum. The only network traffic I really have is that from my laptop. The other computers on my network don't get used much.

Run the Config program. "Use short skip instead of FF/RW" is on the Misc tab. "Force minimal OSD for MVP" is on the Playback tab.
