Try this:
(1) In settings, go to Misc & untick "Update EPG during live TV"
(2) Go to "Channels" and click "Empty EPG" and then "Update EPG"
Now try setting some shows to record and see if they all turn red. Your problem sounds like the one I had where having EPG update during live TV creates multiple layers of EPG data. What is happening is that a layer of EPG under the top layer is getting selected, so you can't see it.
This bug has been around for the last few versions. The work-around is simply not to enable the option for EPG update during live TV.

Yeah, I've seen that few times too. Seems odd and was always worried it wouldn't record. siliconaudio's explanation is interesting. I thought it was doing that because other tuners were available or perhaps due to my auto-records from NEWA. For one of my channels, yes I am updating EPG from DVB, but only one of my 6.
I do not have "Update EPG during live TV" and still see it.

I have a feeling that NPVR does this itself in the background?? I'm sure that when testing I had an empty EPG but after watching live TV the EPG was populated for the channel I was watching (and other on that mux??)
