Anyone care to help with the wiki page for configuring Analog devices? Please post below if you know what the configuration settings mean and how to use them.[URL="http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Configuration.AnalogueDeviceSetupDialog"]

No guarantee for anything from my side. ^^

Quote:device identification
device = it show's the current selected tuner
number = this shows the number of the current tuner to avoid confusing with single or multiple dual/single tuner cards
type = <where did you see this?>
enabled = enable or disable currently selected tuner (useful as an example if you have a multiple tunercard with dvb-t, dvb-c, dvb-s and terrestical reception and only use one or two types of them)

Quote:channels
add = here you can add a videosource for the channellist
add fm = this one is for oldschool fm radio
delete = here you can delete the currently selected channel
import = you can import channels from an epg like xml or schedules direct format

Quote:add channel dialog
number = the number of the selected channel, don't confuse it with the sorting order.
name = you're free to name the channel. in case you're using external xml data for epg i would suggest to use the same names as used within the xml to reduce possible confusion.
input source = tuner (for the tv reception), svideo (video input), svideo2 (video input), composite (video input), composite2 (video input), fixed-channel
country = select here the country where you live, so that the frequencies of your country will be used
tuning =
cable (choose this one, if you receive your tv through analog cable)
antenna (choose this one, if you receive analog terrestical tv OR if you need other tuning spaces to receive some special stations)

It's very simple and not well written, i know. But perhaps this is a little help?

Thanks for input Mr SD!

Lovely to still see you active on the forum. I think that would be a great start to help McBainUK to begin to fill out that section.

McBainUK the executable for channel changer is to blast an STB. For instance using Hauppauge Blaster, HIP, Event Ghost, IRSS (the last my favourite!). VIA infrared (USB out from the NextPVR PC most commonly, but I think can still be done via an old style serial com port (if they still exist on new motherboards!))

The arguments will be what that particular chosen .exe blaster needs instruction wise in order to transmit the correct code.

My humble suggestion would be to linking that Channel Changer Section to a new whole bit on the wiki under Hardware that deals with blasting to external STB's?

cheers

Hey steeb, i hope all is fine with your family and you? I'll try to be an active member, but the day is way too short. You know it yourself: Your wife, your work, your child, other work ... time is running faster with every day of aging. XD

Most excellent work McBainUK and Mr SD.

I wish I had more time to help with this at the moment but as SD said:

Quote:Your wife, your work, your child, other work ... time is running faster with every day of aging

Don't I know it now Big Grin

Humble suggestion again McBainUK? I think Channel Changer Page on the wiki could be tied in even more as NextPVR specific? i.e. We are referring to the Channel Changer Executable within NextPVR, so perhaps Channel Changer Executable (rather than just Channel Changer so as to avoid any mis-interpretation as of course there are lots of other ways to change a channel with NextPVR but this is specific to blasting an STB?

cheers all

And then to add, humbly, I think it would be nice to devolve down the wiki tree so that we can have a specific page for such progs as HIP, Event Ghost, IRSS etc?

Perhaps the very genius-like pBS may read this thread and pick up on some of the blasting stuff Wink

cheers
