I'm a former SageTV user (RIP - Google, you suck!) who has been using MediaPortal, but am testing out NPVR to see how it's progressed. How's that for a trail!
Anyway, I'm running a client/server setup. The server/recording service is running on my Win2003 server in the basement, and the client is a good little Zotac box with an NVidia video device and WinXP stripped down to it's essentials. I've got two HDHR's for a total of 4 ATSC tuners on the server.
I've got everything talking and working. I'm running the latest version with the final patches applied.
I only have one issue thus far...
When using the requisite VMR9FSE renderer (no tearing), when I start any video playback, the video starts and plays back nicely. However I get a series of error dialogs that repeat for about 3 seconds despite my escaping out of them:
[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]
After 3 seconds, they stop appearing. And guess what... My OSD timeout is configured for 3 seconds but no OSD shows. If I perform an action that would make an OSD pop up, the errors start firing again! So, I know the reason and trigger, but not the why. This does not happen when not running full screen exclusive (standard windowed VMR9). Ideas???
I'm attaching a log...
The error that seems to occur each time this happens is:
2012-01-12 22:04:10.810 [ERROR][1] m_D3D->CreateDevice( D3DADAPTER_DEFAULT, D3DDEVTYPE_HAL, m_window, D3DCREATE_SOFTWARE_VERTEXPROCESSING | D3DCREATE_MULTITHREADED, &pp, &m_D3DDev.p) failed (hr=0x8876017c)
By the way and unrelated (I think) - the log also frequently shows missing skin elements:
2012-01-12 22:04:04.763 [DEBUG][1] Element not found: /Skin/Element[@name="PopupCenterButtonNormal"]
2012-01-12 22:04:04.763 [DEBUG][1] Element not found: /Skin/Element[@name="PopupCenterButtonSelected"]
I see these are defined in the Global.xml file for the default skin, but am too unfamiliar with NPVR to deduce anything from that. Looks like they're global definitions of UI areas/buttons that are available to children layouts?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
