does the program support live tv streams as a plug in? i have here in the uk a website called tvcatchup and have been chatting to one of the developers that make plug-ins for there website for windows media center and xmbc and was wondering if there was a possibility of streaming live tv using there services as plug-in ? http://tvcatchup.com/

You can get the live tv streams without any plugins. Using the host IP the url to live tv is http://ip:8866/live?channel=### where ### is the display number.

I think he means the reverse. tvcatchup is a popular website here that streams (most) of the free-to-air channels in real time. What it would need is a plugin for NPVR that connects to *their* service.

I'm sure it's possible, but it would probably need their assistance, and much would depend on how they stream the data. The website itself uses Flash, but I don't know what the video format behind that is. If they made it IPTV compatible you'd probably be laughing.

Ok sorry, I should have clicked the link. Yes IPTV for multicast UDP streaming or even my own NetworkRecord plugin would work for http streaming if they deliver standard mpeg-ts streams, which is probably unlikely, plus there would be a challenge of getting an XMLTV style guide.

A plugin would definitely be possible if they can create a DirectShow graph that streams by http. If the format is a file that extenders support it could even play on the NMT's. Looking at the XBMC screens shots I'd say it would not even be that difficult.

Might I kindly add that if you like it, you make a small donation?
I usually do with each new update and forgot so I just did. Simply click the 'Donate' button at the top.

NPVR is very, very good and this forum is the best for having any questions answered or help with problems.

I think most of the channels would be covered by the radio times xmltv. I know they've had problems in the past trying to offer PVR like features for the channels they stream, so they might not actually be keen (legally) on offering out the streams to something else that *could* then record the content. If they're in XBMC though (?) then maybe there's no issue.
