My cable company has really been messing with QAM, but thankfully they still have analog versions for most channels and I can still record / time shift when I need to on the nearly ancient HVR-1600.
I am running Win 7 32 bit home premium, but somehow MCE is not seeing that HVR1600 now. Worked when I first installed Win7, but now it is gone wacky. Tried to fix it, but I think it may take an OS reinstall.
With the new F1 season starting this weekend, I needed a working DVR...fast!
Haven't used my old 1.4.7 install in about six months, or more. Would it save me?
All I had to do was run mc2xml on a command line, go into gbpvr and tell it to update the EPG.
Voila! Was able to time shift two F1 practice/qualifying sessions with no problems! Playback was as smooth as silk.
Thank you, sub, for creating even this "oldie", which still works for many of us!
