MVP Screen Saver

I can't seem to get the screen saver on my MediaMVP to shut off while using GBPVR. When I view pictures with the pictures plugin, the screen saver kicks in after a minute. I turned it off using the Hauppauge software, but it doesn't work in GBPVR. Anyone else have the same issue? Any way to resolve this?

I'm having the same exact problem as the parent. I spent an hour trying to get the screensaver to turn off in GBPVR. I have the latest beta of the Hauppage software (2.4.23038). I tried multiple variations of the following:

- Stop GBPVR
- Install HS software
- Unplug MVP, wait 20 seconds or so, plug it back in
- Watch MVP load the HS software
- Go to config settings and turn off screensaver
- Turn off MVP and stop HS software
- Restart GBPVR and turn on MVP
- Wait 1 minute and watch screensaver come back on

I've tried setting the screensaver to "blank" in the HS software. GBPVR still shows the bouncing logo thing.

I've tried changing the time in the HS software. GBPVR still makes it come on after 1 minute.

I've tried editing the HS config xml file and changing the settings by hand. No changes in GBPVR at all.

I've tried unplugging the MVP after the changes in the HS software, starting GBPVR, and plugging it back in (after stopping the HS software). No changes.

The dongle.bin files in the GBPVR and HS software directories are the same.

I even went so far as to hack a 58 second forced refresh into the Jukebox software so it would randomly play music for a party I had this past weekend. It won't pick songs if the screensaver is on and the song queue is empty. Talk about frustrating.

Anyways. It looks like the only thing I didn't try was your "run the HS software for 30 minutes after changing the screensaver settings". I'll try that later on tonight or tomorrow. Any other ideas??

I have the D1 firmware. I used the latest Hauppauge software to disable it, as the 2.2 version did not have the option to turn off the screen saver anyway. Still nothing...however, I noticed one of the plugins I tried had a disable screen saver option, and that seems to work for that plugin. Maybe something like that needs to be integrated into the GBPVR software to make it work on all versions and configurations of the MediaMVP and GBPVR.

Yeah, I just bought it too, I guess they aren't selling too well at the Circuit City I bought it at. Maybe I should return it at a different CC and hope for a newer version. Unless someone else says they have a D1 working correctly with this issue.

Is the Firmware not flash upgradable?

That's a good question...I haven't seen any firmware flashers for the MediaMVP...if anyone has any info on this, please let me know.

I bought mine a CC as well in January and I have the D1....are there any known issues with D1 and are there any advantages to the D3A, E1 & E2?

I bought two devices at the very same time from the very same shop and found out that one device was an E1 with the new remote. The other was a D3a with the old remote.

I don't care about the remote, but which firmware is the best, old patched D3 or brand new E1? I'm looking into getting the famous S/PDIF out from the box, does the firware matters?

Is there any advantage with running the HS MVP software? I removed it after installing GB.
