Internet Radio Questions - Help Please

Hello everyone,

I will be getting a new PC soon and put in a BGT3620 PCI Card to watch and Record TV.

I'm looking for something that where I would be able to record my favourite radio shows, internet radio, from all over the world. I want to be able to Record by setting a timer in advance. E.g. If i'm going out at 11am I can record I can record my show that is coming on a 3pm.

I'm from the UK but there are radio shows I would love to record in North America but I can't stay up for them otherwise I would be very tired at work!

Reason I'm asking the question here is because I heard that NPVR is affilliated with Tune In Radio in some way?

Sorry, there is nothing built into NextPVR for recording radio across the internet. NextPVR's focus is really recording tv or radio from connected tuner devices.

You can listen to web radio using the WebRadio plugin though http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.WebRadio

Take a look at Total Recorder. It's not free but may do what you want. I believe it has a scheduler.

Being a "I love Radio" person myself I was overjoyed when Martin (mvallevand) ported Web Radio to NextPVR.

It was how I started my GB-PVR experience every day. Didn't want moving pictures just a bit of Radio!

Sad to say it was really never picked up by users and I think (Martin) fair to say that development stopped due to a complete lack of interest.

A great shame I say and this idea is really good to be able to schedule a recording of a 'Web Broadcast' Radio Programme.

In an ideal world being able to schedule to record a web based Radio show via the epg would be fantastic, which I think is where you are coming from?

No I said I don't actively upload patches, I do try to keep it current since I use it often and I would even listen to requests for enhancements. Scheduled recording of any station would likely be a violation of various usage rights so I don't want to go there. It's bad enough that stations are increasingly using to flash and/or html5 which prevent streaming to WebRadio, I don't want to fuel the arguments.

[U][U]TuneIn[/U][/U], an iphone app, allows you to schedule and record internet radio programs, so I doubt there are any usage violation rights involved.
