PC Client path ok but cant find database

I have an XP Pro server with NPVR working fine locally. I'm attempting to set up clients on an XP Home and a Win7 machine. I have the database directory in shareddocs\NVPR and the registry pointed there. I shared the NPVR directory as well and gave everyone full permissions. I set both clients to server name media and path \\media\npvr. I also tried the full path \\media\shareddocs\nvpr. Both client machines can browse to the nvpr data directory.

In both cases on both clients starting nvpr does not complain about the path being inaccessible (as the default location would despite being shared) but clicking anything that wants to use the database (Live TV, Guide, Settings) results in a cant find database exception.

Any clues?

You must have something wrong with the path.

In Windows Explorer on the client machine, open the share name directory you specified in the NextPVR settings (ie \\media\npvr or \\media\shareddocs\npvr) and check you can actually see the directory containing npvr.db3.

If you've sure you've got it right, but it still cant see it, post the npvr.log and I'll take a look.

Oops! I said it can't find the database but that's incorrect. The exception requester said it can't open the database.

Upon further investigation it looks like the infamous windows permissions bug. I had to delete everything and start over but this time it installed the data to the already existing Public\NVPR directory under shared docs and now everything works fine.
