i currently have an xcard, but was thinking of getting a nova-t card to use the record functions within gbpvr. what are people using as playback of recordings, ie can I use the xcard? Only have a 1Ghz mini-itx so would rather use a hardware decoder.

It should be fine. I dont have my XCard and Nova-S in the same machine, so have never tested them together.

Sorry, what I meant was - 'You should be able to use the Nova for recording and the XCard for playback'.

I think the mini-itx devices only have one PCI slot though? May you could use both devices with a dual riser.

I have a Nova-T and an Xcard but have been struggling to get live TV to work for more than a few seconds at a time via the Xcard or to change channels via the monitor out. I wonder now if it is worth continuing. See this other forum topic and this one

I have installed the nova-t and xcard on a dual riser card. I can using the wintv-2000 application record and then playback the file using the xcard (no sound yet but its a start!!Wink. When I use gbpvr it lets me selct prgrams in the epg to record and creates the folder but as yet has not actually recorded anything. I am not looking to use the livetv part of gbpvr just want to go into the epg select a program then once recorded go the recordings list select it and watch it through the xcard.

any ideas?

Update: have successfully been able to record a program using the epg. Will continue to play with!!!!
