Ok, I still have this problem when live TV on my clients (all 3 of them) will randomly freeze, I have even now plugged in two of the clients directly into the back of the server with a cross over cable (all systems have gigabit cards) and the problem still occurs.

Playback of recorded programs does not suffer the same problem.

I am on Version 2.4.3

I would like to try to get this resolved, if someone can let me know how to switch on complete logging/debug etc I can post the logs when it next happends, many thanks

You'd probably have to start by reproducing the problem, then zip and attach the client logs and the server logs.

ok, thats not a problem, as I am at work all day I miss the freezes but I will create a script that will copy the logs to a directory with the date and time. the wife can then press a button on the remote to activate this script when it freezes

will post logs later :-)

I see this on occasion too. I just happened to be watching on a client when it happened and caught it. Logs attached.

You'll be watching away and the video will freeze frame with no audio. ESC gets you back to the menu and you can start it up again.

In the server logs it looks like the device has stopped delivering data. It retries reading the next chunk of data for about 25 seconds, but no data arrives so it eventually stops.

I'll see if I catch it again next time and post the logs again. It's interesting (or just bad luck) that this always seems to happen on the clients. The Livingroom TV (server) gets about 4x the live tv usage of the clients and has never once frozen during live tv.

I'm not that concerned because:

1) anything I care about truly "watching" I don't watch live, I'll record and watch it as an in progress recording, or watch it later (again, interestingly, the freezing or device dropping hasn't happened in any recordings, it's rock solid, probably a couple hundred hours since 2.4.3 at least).
2) since the 2.4.3 patches my LiveTV has stabilized to the point this happens only on occasion. I couldn't count on LiveTV working consistently for 40 minutes prior to the patches.

I was just trying to give a second set of logs on the problem that might be the same as nx01 was reporting in case you noted something. Smile

Sorry, I haven't. I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks.
