It would be nice to have the option on a per recording or series basis to have it use some form of compression/conversion with various levels of quality that I could choose from or default to.

Currently I believe there is a problem with multiple copies of handbrake running at the same time. Although I can run it myself manually and have multiple copies going, the second recordings compression process fails when it runs now in my POSTPROCESSING.bat file. I would have to use something like GUIDEPLUS, but this only allows one at a time. I've got a multicore system, I'd like to be able to have a number of processes running concurrently to fully utilize it. Comskip, compression, etc.

Have I missed something? How do you handle the process of recording, comskip, compression, and possibly movement of your shows?

I use ffmpeg in postprocessing.bat, which can run multiple threads. It typically saturates my quad-core.
It is quite happy processing multiple shows simultaneously (I have seen 5, trying to use 20 cores) - although you would not want to do anything on the PC at the same time!

Can you post the contents of your Postprocessing.bat file? I saw that the file is included with the install, but didn't get a good idea as to what to do with it.

I'm going to do more research on it now.

Thanks, Jake

I'd rather not - its highly tailored to my specific environment. I process the TS files for my WD TV Live, then ship the files down to it.
There are lots of examples which are simpler and clearer on the forums (fora?).

ffmpeg has a -threads parameter, and there is a default of 2x# CPUs.

MCEbuddy (http://mcebuddy.com/) works well - sits in the taskbar watching folders and automatically converts new files as they are created.
