I tried using this plugin, and, after resolving the "No PVR has been started" issue, I got it working with HD Homerun Prime! However, XBMC process uses about 80%-90% of the CPU. I have a Core 2 Duo E8400 - it's an older processor, but still performs like a champ. To compare, when I watch TV with MCE, CPU usage hovers around 10-20% at most. Is this what everyone else is experiencing? I realize this plugin is a work in progress, and I'm very excited to see XBMC PVR finally work with a cablecard tuner, but I was just curious if high CPU usage is something that's particular to my configuration. My hopes of running it on Atom330/ION look pretty bleak right now Smile

Hey Nivanov,
Have you tried the latest version of the add-on? KRA was having similar issues and Sub worked his magic on a new build. Try the 10/1 build and see if that resolves your issues.

Oh I didn't notice the newer build - definitely will give it a shot. I don't think its a logging issue - I saw that post and turned off debug logging so they don't get flushed to disk.

One thing you might try is turning on "Use a fullscreen window rather than true full screen" in XBMC settings->System->Video output

In xbmc 11 Eden running on windows XP this reduced the processor usage for just displaying the xbmc ui on my ancient Athlon from 90% to about 35% (at the expense of some smoothness).

After updating to the newest PVR plugin version, the CPU usage dropped to respectable 20%

Thanks for this suggestion..... previously while having a play my old Athlon was sitting at 100% CPU with just xbmc (no NextPVR plugin) GUI running & it would totally lock the PC on trying to exit, now it is at 30% CPU & I can exit without having to hit the power button so finally I "may" be able to actually try out the plugin
