NextPVR Presence on xbmc wiki

Next 24 hours or so will add NextPVR back-end to xbmc capability of front-end on xbmc wiki. Cheers sub. All my initial tests (call them alpha!, or not) are beyond alpha... Seems to me a bit like the old days testing MVP dongles! But this is even better! Well, as exciting anyway.

We dont have one yet. Maybe just point them to http://forums.gbpvr.com/forumdisplay.php?54-XBMC for now, which will at least prompt them to ask the questions in the right area.

Probably more that I have loved using GB-PVR (as then) and NextPVR now even more!

Thanks, though I'd probably delete that "(currently hosted on the NextPVR website here)" text, since other plugins like ForTheRecord and DVBLink both use links to their own forums without having to say anything like that. Also probably worth changing "NextPVR XBMC Thread" to "NextPVR XBMC Forum" until we have an information thread we can link to.

Overview
----------
NextPVR is a free Personal Video Recorder (PVR) application for Microsoft Windows.

NextPVR supports a wide range of digital tuners including DVB-S/S2, DVB-T/T2, DVB-C, DMB-T, ATSC and QAM. NextPVR also supports specialist component/HDMI capture devices (like Hauppauge HDPVR, HDPVR2 and Colossus), and Copy-Freely devices (like Hauppauge DCR-2650 and HDHomeRun Prime). NextPVR supports all broadcast codec's including MPEG-2 and H.264 video, and MPEG1 Layer II, AC3, E-AC3, AAC, HE-AAC audio.

NextPVR v2.5.9 and above is required for XBMC compatibility. On top of 2.5.9, it's recommended you install this patch http://forums.gbpvr.com/showthread.p...751#post443751, which corrects a couple of issues there were found after the initial 2.5.9 release.


Installing NextPVR

Settings
---------

IP Address: The IP address of the server running NextPVR. 127.0.0.1 can be used if it is running on the same machine.

Port: The port number of the NextPVR web server. The default port for the web server is 8866.

Pin: The pin number required to connect to NextPVR. Leave this as the default 0000 at this stage.
