Recording screens sort order

In the recording screens is alpha sort order work supposed to work on Recurring Recordings and Pending recordings or only What's New and Ready?

The request to be able to sort by name for Recurring has been requested countless times in the past & sub has always just ignored the messages....... I'm not sure if an actual Wishlist thread has ever been started with all those that have previously requested this adding their comment to it??

I find not being able to sort this list a right PITA as (just as one example) whenever we get some program that has a " ' " or a "," in it you can bet that it will be listed in the EPG with it one time & without it the next & if it is more than one "," all combination of with & without will happen over the season at some stage, so I end up with a whole pile of different recurring listing for the same program spread throughout the list that I have to try & find when I go to delete this program from recording.

The reason the recurring recordings aren't sorted is because I intend to add priority control there in the same way GBPVR did in the past. You cant do that if it's sorted.

Surly you can display a different sort order than it is in the database???

It's displayed in the order it currently shows because that is the priority of the recurring recordings. Those at the top are higher priority than those at the bottom. Eventually you'll be able move them up and down to adjust the priority. It wont be possible to do that if they're not listed in priority order.

I also realise that it would need a different way of doing sort than for the other views so it would need to be a sort for Recurring only with something like Alpha one direction, Alpha other direction, Priority as the options & the (still to be added) reorder priority would only work if Priority order was selected.

Of course priority doesn't affect me as I have more than enough capture sources to record everything that is being broadcast at once... not that I ever will.

It never was a problem for me because I don't have that many recurring recordings. However with the FTR import that I wrote, I was testing with another user's data, and his 101 recurring recordings are incredibly hard to manage over 15 screen in random order. I can understand priority will be nice when it available, but finding records easily would be good too.

Since these can be managed in NEWA tree view ok, this isn't as big a problem, but if the 101 rules are hard to anage the 240+ pending are harder.

My big reason for wanting to be able to sort by title is to check for duplicate recurring recordings. And, it seems that you can't use NEWA (where you can sort by title) because it will not display duplicate recurring recordings even if they are in the database. Argh.

Couldn't you just make the priority order one of the available sort options, eg alpha, date, priority...etc? You could then only allow the movement operations if viewing in priority order.

I don't actually have enough recurring recordings for it to matter, but I thought I'd suggest it anyway.
