Directv, HDMI and Colossus

Hi,

I've been reading and I can't seem to determine whether the following is possible.

Can I capture Audio/video from my Directv H20 receiver via HDMI into my Colossus card?

I've been told by people NO and yet I see posts that indicate YES.

So far I haven't been able to succeed and at this point I just want to know if it's possible rather than troubleshooting. I know premium movies channels are a NO but what about the regular channels, CNN, ESPN, etc. All I'm getting is black screen and no sound.

Is it even possible?

I am doing it with 4 H21s, but I don't know about the H20.

Do you get a file with data or is it 0kb when you attempt a recording? If there is data in the file then you may need to try different decoders.

I have an H20 and capture via HDMI using a Hauppauge HD-PVR 2 (similar guts to Colossus).

If you can make a recording using the Hauppauge supplied utility (ArcSoft ShoBiz for me), you should be good to go.

Thanks for your response. I will continue to research my problems but at least I know it's possible.
