I use ComSkip during recording to detect the commercials and make an EDL/txt file. When I play back those recordings in XBMC under Movies or TV shows it successfully cuts out all of the commercials. However when i play back those recordings under the PVR recordings location it ignores all of the commercial skip files.

According to this thread on XBMC's forum
Quote:...It seems several pvr plugins streams the content rather than read from HD so XBMC never sees those EDL files.

I am curious if this is the case for NextPVR, and is there anyway to add support for comskip files.

The PVR framework of XBMC doesn't currently allow for comskip files. Someone submitted a change for it, but you probably wont see it in mainstream XBMC until the next major release. When XBMC has support for it, I'll make sure the NextPVR addon works with it.

Thanks for the quick reply. The only way to get the shows to show up in XBMC is by using GuidePlus to rename the files with season/episode numbers. Are there any plans to implement that sort of naming into NextPVR?

It's in Gotham alpha1 and nightlies now and there is even the stub in pvr.nextpvr https://github.com/opdenkamp/xbmc-pvr-ad...client.cpp

This is one reason I am asking for clarification if some of the code you say is in the "next" version of pvr.nextpvr targets Frodo 12.0, 12.1 (released yesterday) or Gotham or will you support all those streams via the sub3 and/or opdenkamp repo

Martin wrong a utility called ImagegrabLite that you add to c:\users\public\npvr\scripts\postprocessing.bat. It will lookup your show details on the web and rename using series and episode. they will then appear in XBMC

I am currently using guideplus to do that. Does ImageGrabPlus also update the NPVR database to reflect the name change?

Yep. I have been using it for months to do renames and it's been flawless.

I cant seem to get ImageGrabPlus to do anything. I installed it and created the PostProcessing.bat like the wiki says with

"C:\Program Files\NPVR\imageGrabLite.exe" --oid %3 --rename
Only I changed it to
C:\Progra~2\NPVR\imageGrabLite.exe --oid %3 --rename
to adjust for 64bit.

Update: I did notice that it is creating show XML files in the (C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Plugins\SearchLite\Series) folder, but its not renaming files or downloading images.

IGL creates logs in the NextPVR logs folder ... do the logs contain anything useful? Attach some IGL logs if that would help.

It would be worth trying
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\imageGrabLite.exe" --oid %3 --rename
for a 64 bit windows install

The bat files are run by nrecord as system and may not have the environmental variables set.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh
