Actually, I was wondering if anyone had a good screen test site/short vid/app.

I have monitor test and another one, but they are all for monitors. To give credit where it's due, MCE had some short video loops you went through to adjust the color. I have to admit they worked well.

It's alos tough since the TV seems to a lot brighter than say a DVD rip or downloaded video. Is there a reg or file that can be gotten to play w/ that for GB?

If you've got a recent DVD that's THX certified, chances are you have a home theater setup feature on it. I've seen it on the Star Wars prequels, and the Indiana Jones DVD's. I'm sure it's on others also, but that's what I can remember. It has some nice tests to setup your surround sound levels and video brightness/contrast, along with centering, convergence, etc. I used mine and adjusted my CRT TV, and it does look much better. My 16:9 mode was being oversqueezed, which you could tell with the setup because they draw what should be a perfect circle on the screen. You measure the width & height, and adjust your TV through the service mode until it's correct. I made various other adjustments also, and it really did help.

I'm not an expert on video calibration, but I have heard others in various forums say they like the Avia Guide to Home Theater DVD. Once your TV is calibrated, you could run the DVD through your PC and adjust your output levels to where they are where you want them.

That's cool. I'll have to check that for general video setup.

The only problem is the video, DVD, etc, look great. It's TV through GB that is too bright (and not just the 150 card, since it looks great on WinTV 2k).
