I just installed a Hauppauge DCR-2650. I installed HDHomerun, and then NextPVR. I scanned and found channels. I installed saf620 codecs (locked), and opened windows firewall to the three nextpvr processes. When I play LiveTV I get a black screen, and when I record my file sizes are zero. Any ideas what I should do next?

It doesn't look like you selected the decoders that SAF installed. If you are using Win7 I'd just the Windows decoder.

I changed to Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder for both mpeg2 and H.264 box. I ran Live TV and result was a black screen. I rebooted the PC and had the same result. I am running windows 7 32 bit. I attached the log

This is not likely to be a decoder issue. It is the NextPVR Recording Service nrecord.exe that controls the actual recording. Nrecord spawns a ndigitalhost task for each tuner and ndigitalhost connects to the tuner and transfer data from the tuner to a recording file. For some reason, ndigitalhost is not receiving data from the tuner.

The process is similar for Live TV except that the "recording file" is a temp file. It is usually easiest to diagnose using recordings. Record something and then attach the logs to a post that tells us the time of the recording.

Was there a ndigitalhost log to correspond with these recordings? Do the .ts files have 0 data? Thanks.

No ndigitalhost log files. I checked in users/public/npvr and I searched my c drive

As an additional note, when I open HDHOMERUN config it does not show any devices. If I scan it does not either. HDhomerun setup does not show devices. I do see my devices in Nextpvr

NDigitalhost is only used for digital QAM, ATSC and DVB recordings sot it won't have any. If you are trying to get QAM that isn't supported by NextPVR on the DVR 2650

Ooops. Sorry. North American cable TV continues to baffle me so I should probably avoid these posts ... on the other hand ... the nrecord log has this
Quote:2013-05-05 08:32:04.491 [DEBUG][7] Executing: C:\Program Files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\hdhomerun_config.exe 2011C23B set /tuner0/channel none
Is this program getting caught by the firewall?

Firewall rules must match network settings (i.e. Public or Private). However this is beginning to remind me of another thread in which a user had problems using both DCR-2650 and HDHR (albeit Prime):

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ong-places

I only see one IP in Gutterman's NRecord log:

Code:
2013-05-05 07:12:36.476    [DEBUG][6]    NIC: Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 (Model 143xxx)
2013-05-05 07:12:36.477    [DEBUG][6]    IP address: 192.168.197.202

[Edit] To clarify what Martin was saying, the DCR-2650 is only supported with a cable card and not as a Clear QAM tuner.
