Just bought Sony DAV-SC6, its remote is able to control various manufacturers VCRs and TVs (also my Philips TV). Why won't GBPVR have support for WinLIRC, so I could use any remote with it and predefine my custom buttons to GBPVR tasks.
--- GBPVR system ---
Server: homemade (ASUS MB, AMD x2 5200+, 4G RAM, 3.2TB RAID5, 1Gbit) + DVB-T Hauppauge HVR1300 (h264 TS) + IPTV
Clients: ASUS Pundit-R (P4 3.2GHz Northwood!, 1G RAM, zero HDD - netboot, WinLIRC to use Hauppauge remote on system without Hauppauge devices) + IBM ThinkPad T42 (pvr over 802.11g) + FSC N560 WM6 (802.11g) + etc Smile

Hi Lif,

I think you were in that previous thread about this subject. Meanwhile, I have been playing with it a bit. I failed to get it running properly as a plugin or panel, so I have created a separate process that reads the codestrings from WinLIRC, maps them to GBPVR codes and sends them to the GBPVR window. At the moment it is very rudimentary because the WinLIRC strings from my remote are hardcoded where they should be read from a config (xml) file (As a workaround, one could edit his WinLIRC config file to generate the correct strings).

Another thing I should still do is have it minimise to tray. At the moment it is just a console app.

I'm at work now, but I could post it tonight if you like.

Cheers,

Hans

Found I had an old packered bell remote and IR recieiver in the house. So I decided to find a way to use it with gbpvr.

1st stop was ton find drivers to run it, that brought me to winlirc. Trouble is I'm lost on a couple of things.

1) how do I configure winlirc so that the mute button on my remote will equal a mute command in xp?

2) how do I get theat to work in gbpvr.

Seems like I might want a keyboard clone program to accept things from winlrc and have it spit out a simulate a keystroke wotch gbpvr takes and uses.

any way, any help much apreciated.
