No Live TV, but recording via guide works

Not a major problem, but "significant." My real use of NPVR, great program!, is to record OTA TV. Tests of this work! After I got the "details" of stations mostly worked out per the User Guide. I've done a couple test recordings and they worked.

But, Live TV does not work - first a "please wait" box comes up for a few seconds, then when the LiveTV screen comes up, it is a black screen. At the top line of the box, I do see some call letters for channels("NPVR - KWGH" or so), and tapping the plus (+) key changes the channel to another recognizable call letter set for local stations. But the screen part stays black. The "n" in the system tray goes red as happens when "record" is triggered,

My log folder is zipped and attached.

Any ideas? Not a deal breaker, but an annoyance.

Re-attached- must not have clicked in the right place. Sorry. Ahhh, there is a separate "Upload" button after you choose the file.

Maybe your recordings were not digital you need an ac3 decoder for digital in the US/Canada

or perhaps he played the recordings in some other program?

either way, yes, it isn't exactly intuitive, but if you don't have the correct audio decoder, you may get no playback at all.

I looked quickly for AC3 decoders, but I think I'll look into that tomorrow afternoon - not quite sure what tack to take when I'm looking for something I know nothing about . . .

I did playback of the recorded .ts file(s) using VLC player . . .

On NextPVR's Settings->Decoders page, try selecting Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder in the MPEG2 Video dropdown list. I'm sure johnsonx42 would agree that AC3Filter will solve your digital audio problem (http://www.ac3filter.net/).

Glad to hear recording is working, especially since you got a "device failed to start" when you tried to record the morning news at 6:21.

That device failure was cause to make me look harder at Channels, and do the details to match EPG to actual, which fixed that issue. The Guide reminded me that I had to do that .
