All I get is sound - no video or recording is possible

I'm a complete newbie with nextpvr
What info do you need - other than the logs.
Please help me get the live tv and recording working.
I get the Guide and sound on live tv ok. Loads of channels found.

Live TV is not the best way to start as you are using the "Recording" and "Playback" part of NextPVR so you don't know which part has the problem. Have you actually tried to make a recording? Is the file zero bytes and if not can you play it ok in another media player such as VLC.

If it records ok then as you are using DVB-T tuner you will need a MPEG1 audio decoder and a MPEG2 video decoder enabled and all other decoders can be disabled.

Since you're using DVB and it's getting sound, then the video is definitely there too - you just can't see it due to the MPEG-2 decoder you've got selected on the Settings->Decoders screen.

Thanks for the reply.
I have just tried all the video renderers on the list and nothing produced a picture.
I discovered that one of the three programs I tried to record did work.
I could watch this recording through VLC Player but no picture through NextPVR
I have recorded another program today and it worked but gave a strange error message in NextPVR.
This new recording plays perfectly through VLC but still no picture in NextPVR
The cure probably does involve video rendering but how to fix it?

no, not renderer, decoder. For the renderer, you should use EVR. The other choices are generally for special situations. For the MPEG-2 Decoder, select "Microsoft DTV-DVD Decoder" (unless this is Windows 8/8.1, then that one won't be available. Instead try hoborg's SAF6 package, linked in post #2 of sticky thread).
