PDVD13 Codecs

Hi There,

I just installed PowerDVD 13 to watch some Blu-Ray disks given to me for Christmas so I thought since it was on there I would try the codecs. I registered the CLCvd.ax codec and it showed up in nextpvr but all channels I play have audio only and no sound. Anyone encountered this? People here seem to think this Codec is one of the best (though apparantly the tzan is better but does not work outside of the PDVD player...). That suggests to me that other peoples works okay and it is just me having the issue :-(

As a by the by does anyone know of a plugin to watch Blu-Ray DVDs? If not I will just stick with PowerDVD (which seems to do a pretty good job).

Hi.
There is no need to have PDVD installed at all.
You can use unlocked SAF (link below) - this will fix your no video issue.
And if you combine SAF with AnyDVD HD, you can watch BR directly from nPVR.

I posted in the SAF thread 10 days ago about this - replacing the SAF Unlocked PDVD13 filters with the newest versions of the filters doesn't seem to work for MPEG 2 any longer, H 264 is fine. Unless you have a secret tweak?

If you do as Hoborg says you can usually watch Blu-Rays from the DVD menu although you miss the menus and extra features - until I think it's Wurlston finishes his Blu-Ray Menu plugin.
Unfortunately ANYDVD-HD isn't free.

Okay. So I did a system restore to clear out the PowerDVD then installed SAF6.22 from your link. This first unistalled the version of SAF I had on already then installed the new one. It did this but came up with Disabled then LAV for the video codecs. The settings suggested did not appear at all and there is no sign of LAVF either.... Have I done something wrong?

Interestingly the AMD codecs that were on there have now also disappeared...

It looks like there is something broken in your system. Please, send me SAF logs (look on sytem root). AMD decoders are removed by SAF install, they are useless.

From your LOGs:

SAF Status: *LOCKED* - you need to unlock SAF first to get PDVD decoder.
And LAVF is installed, i can see it in LOGs.
