I have just installed .91.05, which probably has no relavence, as this has been happening since I started using GB-PVR. Anyway....

When I setup to record a whole season of a show in a timeslot, GB-PVR wants to record all showings on that channel in any timeslot. When I look at the recurring setup for the show under the recording menu, it shows as timeslot, but the detail for the show shows as all showings on the channel.

Is this a known bug, or do I have a setup issue?

Timeslot recordings are +/- two hours of the original recording start time. This is done so that if the show plays at slightly different time, it'll still be recorded. This sometimes makes people think GB-PVR is recording all episodes, but when you look closely, they're all within a four hour window.

Thanks, Santa! But that is not what I am seeing. I am recording a show on Friday, which repeats on Monday late night, and GB-PVR wants to record both showings. And like I said, the details on the recurring set-up says it is going to record all showings on this channel, not just in the timeslot +/- 2 hours.

What time is the show on Monday and what time is the show on Friday?

I've noticed this too. I've set Battlestar Galactica to record in the timeslot of 6PM Saturdays, but it'll also record the showing at 4PM Sunday (which is a repeat of Saturday's episode).

I also once set GBPVR to record an episode of Stargate Season 8 every Thursday at 8PM. However, the station that shows it shows Stargate reruns of past seasons every Monday-Friday at 6PM so GBPVR will also capture those despite me saying that I only want the episode in the 8 PM timeslot.

I have been having this problem also. In my case, I want to just record the most current episode of the Simpsons on Sunday night, and it ends up recording about three Simpsons episodes per night, 7 days a week!

I was just looking at the config.xml in the gbpvr folder, and about half the way down I noticed:
"<AllowableTimeslotVariance>120</AllowableTimeslotVariance>"
Hopefully this is what we need to change to get it to work properly(perhaps set it to ~5 minutes).

Yes, thats correct. Thats +/- 2hours of the original start time.

Thats also correct. 8PM is +/- 2hours of 6PM.

You can change timeslot size using the <AllowableTimeslotVariance> setting config.xml, if you think its not working well for the shows your record. It's set to two hours to allow it to cope with normal variances in start time.

If you need even more control on when your programs are scheduled, you may want to look at CDK Scheduler which will give you the option to restrict recordings to a certain day of the week (i.e. only record on Wednesdays).

Why is a different day the same timeslot, just because it's within +/- 2 hours?

Sunday at 6 is not within 2 hours of Saturday at 8. . . . .

It has nothing to do with day of the week. Its just based on 'time of day'. 6PM is within 2 hours or 8PM.
