Recurring Wildcard recording set up question

I'm trying to set up a recurring recording based on a wildcard and found this while searching:

You can probably do a manual record, set the type to 'Daily', and set the Advanced Rules to something like:

title = 'College Basketball' and description like '%Duke%'

Is this still applicable? I tried doing this, but I am not seeing 'Advanced Rules' options in the web gui. Also, it seems that you have to choose a channel for manual recordings. Can this be set to 'All channels'?

I don't know about the web gui as I never use it, but in the nextpvr gui it's at the bottom of the manual recording dialog. For channel, just set it to "Any Channel" (left arrow one time)

(also, you can create an "All Episodes, All Channels" recurring recording of an example of the program you want to record; this creates an Advanced Rules recurring recording. then you can go in and edit the Advanced Rule to broaden or narrow the criteria.)

Whoa.. There's a hidden menu!! Thanks for the help. Looks like I have it mostly. How do I set it for 'any time'? Right now it has a Start and End time which I would guess would cause problems?

I believe the start and end times are ignored if there's an advanced rule specified.

One last question. I am trying to set up a recording for a program called Lockup and all of it's other spinoffs (Lockup, Lockup Raw, Lockup etc). I've used the nPVR gui to set the recording like this:

How can I change this to only record new episodes (First run events only)?

While someone can probably directly tell you how, I can only tell you how to figure it out for yourself:

create a regular recurring recording using the "New Episodes Only" recurring type, then open the database using SQLiteSpy or similar, and examine the resulting rule in the RECURRING_RECORDING table to see how to include the new episode only condition.
