Wasn't sure where exactly to put this. I just got a Samsung 55F6400 TV. When I use the TV's remote I find NPVR 'sees' the commands, not perfectly though, and weird things happen - music plays, live TV plays, menus move etc etc. The remote receiver connected to the NPVR computer is a Hauppauge one plugged into one of my PCI tuners.

Haven't tried the Logitech universal remote yet, but it kinda needs to work better than it is with the regular TV remote.

Pretty obvious what's happening, not a NPVR fault, but what to do? Cheers.

All I can suggest is to get a different PC remote, since you obviously can't do anything about the TV remote.

Thought so. I'll try the Logitech Harmony remote, and add the TV to it.

Might also check what PVR I have told the Harmony I have, as I think it's not quite the right one (I changed it when I got a newer Harmony remote because the PVR I'd used when setting up the old Harmony wasn't available against the new Harmony, which was weird). <== that all makes sense to me, hopefully to you too! Smile

argh! just ran into this same issue myself, but in reverse.

My trusty old sony 61" rear-projection TV is finally in it's death throes: after it's been on for about 20 minutes, the green tube suddenly goes wonky. It gets squeezed vertically in the middle, I think the term is inverse vertical pincushion? Looks like )( but sideways. Turning it off and on immediately doesn't fix it, have to wait a few hours so it's clearly a component that jumps out of tolerance once it gets warm enough. I think it's 15 years old, so I guess it's done it's duty.

Anyhow, we're not keen to rush out and buy a new TV at the moment, and it so happens that a family member had an unused 37" magnavox LCD HDTV sitting around so we've decided to use that for awhile until we find a good deal on a TV we want.

I got it hooked up and reconfigured NPVR for 16:9 and then started using it. Suddenly the TV went dark and I realized it was off, but I wasn't even touching it's remote. In a moment I realized that the button on the silver Hauppauge remote that I use to send F7 to change the aspect ratio gets seen by the TV as the power off command! further, the channel up/down and number buttons change the channels on the TV, and a couple of other buttons on the remote activate other random functions of the TV.

I did discover that another hauppauge remote I have, the black media-center type remote that came with my HVR-2250, doesn't affect the TV at all. The silver one is the older non-MCE type that came with my HVR-1150. I much prefer the silver one, but at least I have a solution for now.

None of this helps you any I realize... at first I thought it might, until I remembered your problem was the opposite of mine.

Yeah so do I, I have tried all sorts of different ones & always end up back with the silver one...

wodger: if you need/want it I have a new (old.... I got it about 7 years ago but it has never been used & is still in the box) MCE remote with the USB receiver etc. & I even I think I know where to lay my hands on it.... if interested just PM me.
