Unable to find available capture device error

Hello All,

So this is the setup
Windows 7 with no other software loaded on it accept for NextPVR

I have 2 capture cards in this machine both USB capture devices
TV Wonder 750USB
Hauppauge WINTV HVR-950

Now when I open NextPVR it says "Unable to find available capture device" error

So I go to settings > devices

I can see both cards and they are both set to use fixed-channel 3, and I tuned the TV Wonder to use channel 4 in "Live TV" and the Hauppauge to use channel 8.

When I go to "Live TV" I can go to channel 4 and it works but I get the "Unable to find available capture device" error when I go to channel 8.

I then loaded Total Media app on to the machine and it can view the Hauppauge so my question is what am i doing wrong?

You'd probably need to reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the npvr.log/nrecord.log files.

I don't follow your setup; the way you wrote it sounds like you are capture analog channels from a cable box using fixed channel 3 output, but your logs say you haven't installed SoftPVR so analog support is disabled, yet you say you had live tv working on one of the cards. It doesn't add up.

i followed the steps found here

all it did was add a SoftPVR folder in
C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\

it that folder is temp1, and temp2 folders with nothing in them?

Definitely don't add it in the NextPVR directory.

Since you've got a Hauppauge device, just run the WinTV7 installer that came with your device - that'll get SoftPVR installed on your machine.

so i reinstalled the happauge software, then tried to run a scan and got the same error but the logs are here and a screen shot

yep, your HVR950 is failing to start, but no reason is given. try installing the latest driver from hauppauge maybe?
