NPVR Black screen

Hi,

Until a couple weeks ago NPVR was working great. Then it started timing out every time I tried to watch Live TV on XBMC. When I close XBMC and try to watch Live TV on NPVR, I only get a black screen: no video, no sound.


system: US channels only, Windows 8.1, XBMC 12.3, NPVR 3.1.1

Troubleshooting so far:

Uninstalled older NPVR and installed 3.1.1
Updated decoders to SAF 6.2.2 unlocked
Turned off anti-virus and windows defender
Tried multiple combinations of decoders
Tried recording a show. It generated a non-zero size MPEG-2 file that could not be played.

All attempts resulted in the same black screen with no vid and no sound.

Did you rescan? Cable channels do change clear QAM frequencies. Also some US cable co's are shutting off clear QAM completely even locals.

I just rescanned and picked up a couple more unknown channels. Only one of them shows video, but it's the Comcast channel. Not sure if I screwed up the rescan or Comcast is playing games. Anything else I can check?

I would contact Comcast - a quick google confirms they are shutting down clear Qam on their networks.
